Most remodelers will not put a number in print, because a range is easy to hold against them later. We would rather you had ours in writing.
These are the ranges we work within across Oakland, Macomb and Wayne Counties. Find your project in one of them before we ever meet.
There's a reason contractors avoid this page. A number in writing is a number you can be held to, and every kitchen is different.
But we think a homeowner deserves to know whether a firm is even in their range before they spend an evening on a consultation. So here is what we actually charge, what drives the figure up, and where we're honestly not the right fit.
Heating, cooling, electrical service and plumbing replaced rather than worked around. The largest single swing between a full interior renovation and a true down-to-the-studs project, and the difference you feel daily and never see.
New custom cabinetry, stone countertops, backsplash, lighting, flooring, and fixtures — with the existing footprint kept as-is. Walls stay put and plumbing stays where it is.The right choice when the kitchen works but everything in it is finished.
Everything above, plus layout changes within the existing footprint. Islands added or resized, plumbing and electrical relocated, ceilings and soffits reworked. This is where most of our Oakland County kitchens land.
Walls come down, the kitchen opens into adjacent rooms, or the space extends into an addition. Full custom cabinetry and millwork, premium appliances, structural engineering. Common in older Birmingham and Bloomfield homes where the original layout no longer fits how families live.
All ranges are for completed projects — design, materials, labor, permits, and finish work included.

Cabinetry is the single largest line on almost every kitchen, and it's where the gap between a $65,000 and a $180,000 project usually opens up.
It's also the line where the difference is still visible ten years later.
Costs shift across Oakland County, driven less by geography than by the housing stock. Older homes need more work behind the walls, and larger homes carry larger kitchens.

The Cranbrook Kitchen is a luxury kitchen remodel in Bloomfield Hills that combines modern design with warm, natural details. Dura Supreme cabinetry, a dramatic black quartz waterfall island, integrated appliances, a custom live-edge dining surface, and new hardwood flooring come together in an open-concept space designed for cooking, gathering, and entertaining.
Homes built before 1950 routinely need electrical, plumbing, or structural work that isn't visible until demolition. We budget for it rather than discover it.
Keeping the existing layout is the single biggest saving available. Opening a kitchen into a dining room means structural engineering, and sometimes a beam.
Semi-custom to fully custom is the widest swing on the estimate. Both can be excellent; they aren't the same money.
Quartz and granite sit in one range; marble, quartzite, and slabs with book-matched veining sit well above it, a difference of $30 or more per square foot on the same countertop.
A standard package and a full professional-grade suite can differ by $20,000 to $40,000 on their own.
We don't reface cabinets and we don't paint them. Every kitchen we build starts with new cabinetry, which is why our smallest projects begin around $45,000. If refacing is what your kitchen needs, a refacing specialist will serve you better and cost you far less. We're happy to point you toward one.
Size isn't the same thing as standard. A galley kitchen in Ferndale gets the same cabinetry, the same crews, and the same detailing as a whole-floor renovation in Bloomfield Hills. There's just less of it, and it costs accordingly.
We're the right fit when the project calls for new cabinetry, layout changes, an older home with complications behind the walls, or a homeowner who wants design and construction handled by one team rather than coordinated across three.

Why do your numbers differ from national cost calculators?
National averages blend markets that aren't comparable. A kitchen in Oakland, Macomb or Wayne County involves different housing stock, different finish expectations, and different labor costs than a national mean. These ranges come from projects we've actually completed here.
Does the range include design fees?
Yes. Every figure on this page reflects a completed project: design, materials, labor, permits, and finish work.
Can I see materials before committing?
Yes. Cabinetry, tile, stone, and finishes are all in our studio, including our Dura Supreme cabinetry line. You see and touch everything before anything is ordered.
My kitchen is small. Are you still the right firm?
Yes. A compact galley or 10x10 kitchen is a real project and we build plenty of them across Ferndale, Berkley, Huntington Woods, and Royal Oak. The standard doesn't change with the square footage. There's simply less material and less labor, and the price reflects that.
How accurate is the estimate you give at the first meeting?
We give a range at the first conversation, then a fixed scope and price once design and material selections are complete. Because design and construction are handled by the same team, there's no gap between what was drawn and what gets built.
Do you work on historic homes?
Much of our work is in older Birmingham and Bloomfield neighborhoods. We modernize systems, kitchens, and baths while preserving what makes those homes worth keeping.
Have a number in mind?
Let's see what it buys.
