Joe has spent more than 25 years in construction. In 2014 he started Maxwell Building Services at his kitchen table, with his wife Alyce beside him and an ugly yellow box truck bought with their wedding money. Today Maxwell is a design build firm with a full office and field team, more than 500 completed projects and a 98% referral rate. Joe is a licensed Michigan residential builder and a NARI member.
Joe still works with clients directly. He sets the direction for every project and has built a team of designers, project managers and craftsmen who carry it out. Under his leadership Maxwell has earned an A+ rating with the BBB and Best of Houzz recognition. His standard for every job hasn't changed since the box truck: build it right, keep the home clean and treat every client the way he'd want his own family treated.
Maxwell opened Birmingham Manor's first floor with a steel beam, then built a Dura Supreme kitchen in white and rift-cut white oak with integrated Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.
Every trade but plumbing, electrical and HVAC is our own crew, not a rotating list of subs who met each other that morning. The outside contractors we do use are licensed, trained and held to the same worksite standards as our own team. It is slower to grow that way and considerably easier to stand behind the result.
A project manager for the schedule, the crews and the site. A designer for the drawings, the selections and how it comes together. Both stay with you from contract to completion.
