Nestled within a historic Birmingham, Michigan home, The Arden Bath blends timeless European influences with artisan craftsmanship to create a warm, luxurious retreat. Every material was thoughtfully selected to celebrate handcrafted design while respecting the home’s original architecture.
At the heart of the bathroom is a stunning imported Turkish marble sink, custom fabricated with an elegant integrated backsplash and paired with Waterworks unlacquered brass wall-mounted faucets. The vanity serves as both a functional workspace and a sculptural focal point, while Regina Andrew alabaster sconces provide a soft, natural glow that enhances the warmth of the surrounding finishes.
The spacious walk-in shower is framed by a custom masonry arch and clad in handcrafted Zia clay tile, bringing rich texture and organic variation to the space. Beneath your feet, a fan-pattern porcelain shower floor seamlessly drains into a sleek linear drain, creating a clean, spa-inspired aesthetic without interrupting the tile pattern.
A luxurious six-foot freestanding soaking tub creates the perfect place to unwind beneath the restored original wood windows. While the vanity features Waterworks unlacquered brass fixtures, the tub was intentionally finished with polished chrome plumbing fixtures, adding a subtle layer of contrast while maintaining the bathroom’s timeless character.
Throughout the room, TileBar Star & Cross porcelain tile provides a classic foundation inspired by traditional European stone floors. Restored original oak trim and millwork preserve the home’s historic charm while seamlessly blending with the modern luxury finishes.
Designed and built by Maxwell Building Services, The Arden Bath is a celebration of artisan materials, thoughtful craftsmanship, and timeless design, resulting in a primary bathroom that feels equally at home in a historic Birmingham residence today as it will for generations to come.
